Burden, on the outside, lost, unseen, no one paying attention, my needs not important, sad, small, insignificant…these were the way I felt my entire childhood. The overarching energy was alcoholism. My generational imprint started with addiction. My mother the child of an alcoholic with addiction issues around sugar. My biological father, who was an alcoholic my whole childhood. And my dad, who had overcome his relationship with alcohol before he met my mother.
Emotional neglect was the pervasive theme in my childhood. Because the effect of my mother’s experience led her to have overt narcissistic tendencies, and my biological father was just absent: physically and emotionally. My dad was the saving grace by being emotionally available, but by then I did not know how to accept it. And that left that relationship disconnected as much as he tried to love me.
This Father’s Day I feel his presence in my life still showing up for me from the other side. He has been gone now for five years. And I am thriving in my life’s purpose more than I ever have. Yes, I do feel he is helping me every day. Not being able to accept and receive love has become the block that I am working hard every day to overcome. I could not emotionally heal and connect.
Recently, I asked Chatgpt to create copy for my website about me. I struggle with AI, but that is a conversation for another day. And it created, using all it knew about me and my business, to describe my journey succinctly. I was surprised that it honed in on my experiences that have informed my teachings. I have created all I bring to you from my background which has in turn developed all my support for my clients. I have created diamonds out of rocks.

It’s crazy to me that a few short paragraphs (that you can read on the Home page of my website) outlined my growth so matter of fact. I spent YEARS of pain and loneliness. I spent decades in unhealthy, abusive relationships. I crawled my way to where I am today, and I continue to evolve and fight for the peace and love that I crave.
I am proud of where we are. You are on this journey with me. I thank my Dad for being there for me even though he never understood me…he never gave up trying. I appreciate your place in this journey with me…we are not alone. Since my Dad has crossed over and our connection has grown, I have found a deeper faith. It has helped me navigate the challenges I still struggle with and find the path forward.
I invite you to continue to grow and evolve on this journey with me using all the tools, practices, and connection I have gained to overcome the blocks and hurdles we all face. But you don’t have to do it alone. Blessings, M xo
